Project Overview
The Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan is a flagship program launched by the Government of India to ensure holistic and equitable quality education for all children from pre-primary to senior secondary levels. Launched in 2018, the initiative integrates three previous schemes—Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), and Teacher Education (TE) —into a single comprehensive program to streamline efforts toward improving education outcomes. As the leading training provider for this scheme, Mosiac aims to bridge gaps in access, equity, and quality while promoting inclusive and innovative learning approaches across the education system. The project adopts a holistic approach to bridge learning gaps and reduce dropout rates by introducing remedial programs and promoting vocational education to prepare students for future career opportunities. By addressing critical educational needs, fostering gender equality, and building a robust learning ecosystem, the scheme plays a pivotal role in ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education
The primary focus of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan is to strengthen school infrastructure, improve learning outcomes, and support students, particularly from disadvantaged communities, including girls, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and children with disabilities. Key interventions include the construction of quality infrastructure and digital learning. Emphasis is placed on teacher training, ensuring a competent workforce to deliver effective classroom instruction aligned with modern pedagogical methods.
The program incorporates technology-driven education by promoting smart classrooms and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) tools, to make learning more interactive and engaging. It also focuses on early childhood education to build strong foundational literacy and numeracy skills as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It empowers children and youth with knowledge and skills to become productive contributors to India’s socio-economic development.
